Why Baller Evolution?
Baller Evolution is built around helping players develop their individual game. Our small-group basketball skill enhancement training combines I’m Possible Training methodology, Technique-Driven Skill Enhancement principles, focused instruction and purposeful repetition in an environment designed for long-term development.
Independent Training
Baller Evolution is not affiliated with an AAU or travel basketball program or school district. Players from different teams, schools and communities can train here with the focus where it belongs: developing their individual game.
Certified Skill Enhancement
Training is led by an I’m Possible Certified Skill Enhancement Trainer with TDSE certification. Clinics incorporate concepts from I’m Possible Training and Technique-Driven Skill Enhancement to teach skills with greater detail, purpose and understanding.
Small Groups. More Attention.
Clinics are capped at up to 10 athletes, creating room for instruction, feedback and corrections while preserving the energy and challenge of training alongside other players.
Technique Before Reps
More repetitions aren’t always better repetitions. Technique-Driven Skill Enhancement emphasizes the details behind movement and skill execution so players understand how and why a skill works instead of simply completing a drill.
Development Beyond the Clinic
Players receive at-home skill work that encourages continued development between sessions. The goal is to build stronger training habits and give athletes ways to keep working on their game beyond a weekly clinic.
Player Development, Not Team Systems
We focus on developing adaptable basketball skills players can take back to their school, travel or AAU teams — not teaching one team’s plays, terminology or system.
BUILT ON I’M POSSIBLE TRAINING
Baller Evolution incorporates concepts from I’m Possible Training, a basketball skill enhancement system founded by professional basketball skill enhancement trainer Micah Lancaster.
At the center of the system is Technique-Driven Skill Enhancement (TDSE) — the methodology developed by Lancaster that drives I’m Possible Training. Rather than simply adding more drills or repetitions, the emphasis is on technique, movement, adaptability, accountability and understanding the details that help basketball skills translate to the game.
TECHNIQUE FIRST
Players learn the details behind movement and skill execution so they understand how and why a skill works, not simply how to complete a drill.
SKILLS THAT TRANSLATE
Training emphasizes adaptable basketball skills and movement players can apply in changing situations rather than memorizing isolated patterns.
DEVELOPED ACROSS EVERY LEVEL
I’m Possible Training has been used in the development of youth athletes, college players and professional basketball players.
A SYSTEM BUILT THROUGH EXPERIENCE
I’m Possible Training has developed its skill enhancement system through years of work with basketball players across multiple levels of the game.
THE SYSTEM PROVIDES THE FOUNDATION. THE PLAYER IN FRONT OF US DRIVES THE TRAINING.
Baller Evolution brings principles from I’m Possible Training and Technique-Driven Skill Enhancement into our small-group clinics while coaching the individual athlete. The goal is not to duplicate a professional player’s workout. It is to use detailed skill enhancement methods to help each player better understand movement, develop adaptable basketball skills and continue evolving their own game.

Is Your Player Ready
for Skill Training?
Basketball skill training can be a powerful part of a player’s development — but it isn’t automatically the right fit for every athlete at every stage.
Our free Training Readiness Check helps parents and players think through the habits, mindset and work ethic that can make skill training more productive. It takes about two minutes and provides personalized feedback based on the player’s answers.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Everything you need to know before your first Baller Evolution small-group basketball training clinic.
Who should attend?
Baller Evolution is designed for basketball players who want to improve their individual skills and are willing to put purposeful work into their development.
Our Next Level Training clinics are designed for players in grades 4–7, while Pro Training is designed for players in grades 8 through college, with most participants currently being high-school-age athletes.
Not sure whether skill training is the right fit yet? Take our Training Readiness Check before registering.
How many players are in each group?
Baller Evolution clinics are intentionally kept small and are capped at 10 athletes.
That allows players to train alongside other athletes while still creating room for instruction, feedback and corrections throughout the session.
How do I reserve a spot?
All clinic registration is completed online. Choose your clinic and reserve your athlete’s spot through our Small Group Skill Clinics page.
Because clinics are limited to 10 athletes, registering in advance ensures your player has a spot in that session.
Do players need to attend every week?
No. Players can register for the clinics that fit their schedule. Baller Evolution does not require athletes to attend every week.
Consistency does matter for skill development, though. Players who train regularly and continue working on their skills between sessions generally give themselves a better opportunity to make meaningful progress over time.
Where are your clinics held?
Baller Evolution small-group basketball clinics are held in DeWitt, Michigan.
We work with basketball players from DeWitt, Lansing, East Lansing, Okemos and communities throughout Mid-Michigan.
Location details for individual sessions are provided as part of the clinic registration process.
What is basketball skill enhancement training?
Skill enhancement training goes beyond simply running players through drills. The emphasis is on understanding the details behind a basketball skill and improving how that skill is performed.
At Baller Evolution, we work on areas such as ball handling, finishing, footwork, shooting mechanics, coordination and basketball-specific movement while emphasizing technique, purposeful repetition and long-term development.
What is TDSE?
TDSE stands for Technique-Driven Skill Enhancement.
The approach emphasizes the quality and details of movement and skill execution rather than simply accumulating repetitions. Players are taught how and why skills are performed so their repetitions have greater purpose.
Baller Evolution training is led by a TDSE Certified Trainer who is also an I’m Possible Certified Skill Enhancement Trainer.
Do you offer private, one-on-one training?
Our primary training format is small-group skill enhancement training rather than traditional one-on-one sessions.
Small groups allow athletes to receive coaching and individual feedback while also benefiting from the pace, competition, decision-making and energy that come from training around other players.
Do you offer skill training for teams or communities?
Baller Evolution may work with teams, programs or community groups interested in providing focused basketball skill-development opportunities for their athletes.
Our emphasis remains on individual player development, even when training is provided in a team or group environment.
Contact Baller Evolution to discuss your group and what you’re looking to accomplish.
Why do you use accountability tools in training?
You may see cones, Rip Lights, training mats and other equipment used during Baller Evolution clinics. We often refer to these as accountability tools rather than simply props.
They’re used to create visual targets, movement boundaries, timing cues and other constraints that help athletes recognize whether they’re performing a skill correctly.
The equipment isn’t the skill. It’s a tool used to help teach, challenge and reinforce the skill.
What should I bring to training?
Players should arrive ready to train in appropriate basketball clothing and basketball shoes.
We also strongly recommend bringing a water bottle. Any additional equipment needed for a particular clinic will be communicated in advance.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Clinic registration and payment are handled through our online registration system.
Available payment options will be displayed when you reserve your athlete’s spot.
Does this work?
Skill development works when the player consistently does the work.
If you’re looking for a quick fix or believe attending a few clinics each year will completely change a player’s game, skill training probably isn’t a good investment.
Meaningful development requires consistent, purposeful work over time. That’s one reason players receive things to work on outside of the clinic as well. We want athletes developing between sessions, not becoming dependent on weekly training.
Every athlete develops at a different rate, but we’ve often seen noticeable changes with newer skill-enhancement athletes during roughly months 5–10 of consistent training. Progress isn’t guaranteed on a timetable, but consistency, quality repetitions and good training habits give players the opportunity to keep moving their game forward.
Do you have videos of your training?
Yes. We regularly share examples of Baller Evolution training, skill work and player development through our social media channels.
These videos can give parents and players a better idea of the type of instruction, movement and skill-development concepts incorporated into our clinics.
